Kanye West splits from fiancee

The ‘Stronger’ rapper and Alexis Phifer – who got engaged in 2006 while holidaying in Italy – have decided to end their relationship but insist the break-up was amicable.

Alexis, who began dating Kanye in 2002, told Us Weekly magazine: “It’s been hard and not been an easy time. I tried to keep things private but yes, it’s sad when things end like this and we truly do remain friends. I wish him the best in his future and in all of his endeavours. He’s one of the most talented people I’ve ever met, that’s for sure.”

Sources say Kanye - who briefly split from Alexis in 2004 - is too busy with his current world tour and Music career to have any time for romance.

One said: “Kanye is possessed by the tour and everything going on and just couldn’t keep it going. They are still friends and have broken up and gotten back together before, so it could work out.”

Last year, Kanye revealed he was looking forward to marrying Alexis but insisted he wouldn’t have a big wedding.

He said: “I’m just going to go and get married. I’m not going to make a big deal out of it.”

Kanye and Alexis started dating in 2002, but split briefly in 2004.

George Clooney to dye his trademark grey hair?

Posted on April 14, 2008 - George Clooney

The 46-year-old actor is worried his trademark locks are making him look too old and is planning to change to a more youthful colour.

He said: “My hair’s too grey, much too grey!

“I will have to consider dyeing it. I’ve been thinking a lot about it lately. First I’m going to start dyeing my eyebrows, just to see how it works. And then I’ll go to the hair. Start slowly.”

The ‘Leatherheads’ star also says he has gone past the stage of having a mid-life crisis.

He said: “I going to be 47 in May. But there’s no mid-life crisis for me yet. Although I’m 46 and I don’t know a lot of 92-year-olds so maybe I’m past my mid-life.

I’ve always tried to pick out the things that are good in life and enjoy them because there are tremendous amounts of ways to find the bad.”

Madonna is set to buy a third New York apartment

Posted on April 10, 2008 - Madonna

Madonna is set to buy a third New York apartment.

The ‘4 Minutes’ singer will splash out $7 million on the property overlooking Central Park, after settling her dispute with the board who own the building.

Last December, Madonna sued the board claiming it had wrongfully blocked her from extending her property.

Last year, Madonna splashed out $12 million on her sixth London home. The 49-year-old star snapped up the 10-bedroom Georgian townhouse in Marylebone last June.

It was claimed Madonna - who lives in the eight-bedroom house next door with husband Guy Ritchie and children Lourdes, 11, seven-year-old Rocco and adopted two-year-old David - could link the two properties to make one huge home.

As well as their six London and three New York properties, Madonna and Guy also own the 1,200-acre Ashcombe Estate in Wiltshire and a £8 million Beverly Hills mansion.

Simon Cowell hasn’t bought a house for Leona Lewis

Posted on April 10, 2008 - Leona Lewis, Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell hasn’t bought a house for Leona Lewis, because he would be “broke” if he celebrated all his artists’ successes.

The Music mogul slammed claims he rewarded Leona’s amazing US success by splashing out on a £2.5 million Hollywood property.

He said: “No! I didn’t buy her a house. If I did that I would be broke every time I had a hit.”

Leona recently became the first British solo female to top the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in 21 years with her hit ‘Bleeding Love’.

Simon is also fuming after Leona - who found fame on hit UK talent show ‘The X Factor’ - was snubbed at this year’s BRIT Awards.

He added to Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “I don’t like The Brits. You should recognise and celebrate success. This is the problem, people say, ‘Leona can’t be taken seriously because she entered ‘X Factor’.’ But shows like ‘The X Factor’ are there because doors are closed. You have to start changing your attitude - give her one award for God’s sake!

“When a British Music awards show deliberately snubs someone like Leona then they are out of touch.”

Leona went home empty-handed from the February ceremony after receiving nominations for Best British Single, British Breakthrough Act, Best British Album and Best British Female Solo Artist.

Gwyneth Paltrow blasts marriage rumours

Posted on April 10, 2008 - Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow has blasted rumours her marriage to Chris Martin is in trouble as “ridiculous”.

The 35-year-old actress insists the only reason she is rarely pictured with her Coldplay star husband of five years is because they made a pact to keep their marriage out of the public eye.

She said: “You will never see us out publicly. We just don’t want to be one of those couples. It evolved that way. He gets furious if I say something about him.”

Then referring to an incident when she refused to reveal where her husband was, she said: “They were like, ‘You’re breaking up,’ it’s ridiculous.”

Gwyneth, who has a three-year-old daughter Apple and two-year-old son Moses with Chris, says being a mother and wife has completed her as a person.

She added to Britain’s Glamour magazine: “Having a family has made me feel whole. I used to be always searching and always lonely. I never feel like that anymore.”

The Oscar-winner also revealed her two children have very different personalities.

She said: “Apple is an open person. She’s a Taurus - grounded, calm, funny. “Moses is an Aries, he’s the most sweet, sensitive thing but then he’ll kick and karate-chop and spit and tumble. He’s a real boy.”
