Abc’s “All My Children” Launches Weekly Video Podcast Available On Abc.Com And Itunes.
Premiere to Feature Guest Star Jesse McCartney.
ABC’s Emmy Award-winning drama “All My Children” will launch a weekly Video podcast starting on September 4, 2006, it was announced by Brian Frons, president, Daytime, Disney/ABC Television Group. The premiere will feature guest star Hollywood Records recording artists Jesse McCartney and Jordan Pruitt, behind the scenes during their day taping a special episode of the show. The free feature is available on ABC.com and iTunes.
“For the first time, fans will have intimate access to exclusive cast and guest star interviews as they are taken behind the scenes. The Video podcast will provide an enhanced fan experience, allowing our loyal viewers to become equally as intimate with the actors as they have already become with the characters they play,” says executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers.
The backdrop of the first Video podcast follows the show’s actors Ambyr Childers and Taylor Gildersleeve, who respectively play the show’s teen characters Colby and Sydney, as they celebrate their dual Sweet 16 party. Jesse McCartney, who previously starred on “All My Children” playing the role of JR Chandler, returns as himself to perform along with Jordan Pruitt. The episodes will air on “All My Children” September 8 and 12.
“All My Children” celebrated its 36th Anniversary on January 5, 2006. The program has successfully maintained its popularity and continues to be one of daytime’s most compelling dramas. “All My Children” took home the 1998 Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, the third time the show received this top honor, having also garnered the award in 1994 and 1992. In 2004 the show also received its third consecutive Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series Writing, its third Writers Guild Award and its third GLAAD Media Award in April of 2004.
Created by Agnes Nixon, “All My Children” premiered on the ABC Television Network on January 5, 1970, as a half-hour show; seven years later it expanded to an hour. Julie Hanan Carruthers is executive producer, Megan McTavish is head writer with Conal O’Brien, Casey Childs and Angela Tessinari directing. “All My Children” is produced in New York and airs MONDAY-FRIDAY (1:00-2:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
